United States had mostly served the role of a beneficiary to these countries and the people who migrated from them. This year however, there was a sudden and sharp turn in this policy called upon by President Trump and his cabinet. One of primary services of the United States during this refugee crisis was to provide asylum to Latin American refugees in large numbers. And while the number is set to touch billions soon, the number of asylums being provided have been cut down to only 30,000. This is one of the lowest numbers of political asylums provided the United States in the decade.
